10p1 - an A grade Evaluation

To develop and refine your ICT exam evaluation
To understand what is required for top grade evaluation

Outcome - you have acted on feedback and improved your evaluation to top grade standard.
LOG ON TO YOUR MOCK EXAM ACCOUNT - ict10firstname.surname and find your form.doc

Starter:   These were the points given to you during your exam. Brain storm what elements of your design you could have evaluated
  • explain your important design decisions
  • justify your choices
  • suggest further improvements.

Feedback - what have we forgotten? What are the key words here? What does 'evaluate' mean?

Task 1

Using this example - highlight where she has 'evaluated' the above points.  Do this on the paper version.   Which words used suggest that her comments are 'evaluative' rather than descriptive or superfical?

Task 2

Using our discussions and the type of language we need to use. Add, Develop and Refine your Evaluation.

Task 3 - with a partner - can you now honestly fit it into this top mark band ? Why? Why not? What further changes do

The student has made valid justifications for the effectiveness
of their important design decisions. The justifications will be
clearly related to audience and purpose (eg answer justifies
why the choice of colour and images are appropriate not only
for a leisure park but also the ways in which they help make it
appealing for the target audience).

Valid suggestions for improvement will be included and it will
be clear how these would improve the outcome (eg answer
includes valid suggestions for making the text more readable
for the target audience in order to make it more likely that
they would continue to browse the rest of the microsite).

Plenary - what do you intend to do to "prepare" between now and Monday or Thursday ?

Extra - spend an extra time you have going over Mr Smith's presentation from yesterday's lesson.
