#8w2 Last Stop Frame Lesson !!

LO - to develop tools in StopFrame / Flash to refine and develop your animation, to meet user needs
LO - to set up the appropriate software ready to refine your animation

Starter:
  • Set youself 3 clear targets today - what are they ? How are you going to measure your own progress.
Main:

Task 1 - FINISH YOUR ANIMATION

Please be sensible with the equipment.  Using I Can Animate continue to film your scenes - developing your story line. Get feedback from others and make changes.

If you think you've finished - export the movie as a .wmv file  and save it in your Unit 4 Create me a Story folder - name it something sensible.

Task 2 - RESEARCH AND SAVE BACKING TRACKS

Find a sound track you want on youtube.

Type in the word 'sing' before the URL - for example

http://www.singyoutube.com/watch?v=AtKZKl7Bgu0

It will now take you through a menu for you to save the sound file - Choose MP3 192 and Press 'Process' - it will take a while but you can then save it in your Unit 4 Create Me a Story folder.

Task 3 - IF YOU FINISH YOUR STOP FRAME STORY and have exported as a .wmv - set up Adobe Premiere ready to import your .wmv

a) Open Adobe Premiere Pro and Start a New Project:

b)  Browse to save it in your Sites, Year 8 Create Me a Story folder and give it a sensible name eg: Practice Animation

c)  Then check that DV PAL is set to 48 HZ, name it again at the bottom and press OK.

d) You are now ready to start importing your stop frame clip ,. Simply go to File, Import and browse for your .wmv file - it will appear on the left hand side.

2. Drag it down on the Video 1 line and press play to make sure it works. You should see it play in the little window - top right!

Go back to Adobe Premiere and import your sound file - drag it down onto the Audio Line.

Now play both at the same time - your Audio and Video

Plenary - what progress have you made today, how has your story line developed. Are you ready to start editing your 'movie' next lesson

HOMEWORK:  Set June 7th - due June 17th (to hand in on the day, comment on this blog post or email to me j.anderson@wildern.hants.sch.uk)

Choose an animation that you watch on TV or online and answer the following questions about it.

  • Who is the target audience?
  • How do you know?
  • How do the characters meet the needs of the audience?
  • Which colours are used mainly, and why?
  • What special effects are used?
  • How do these special effects help attract the target audience?
