Database User Needs and User Interface - this should take you between 30-60 minutes.

Task 1 - Database User Needs

Write a list of "User Needs" for your activities database - based on the starter we did in class today and our discussion at the end of the lesson about how we could make these processes more efficient.

Call it Database User Needs and have two headings, include what the database should do for the user and what the database should look like.

ie (but your list needs to be longer)

User Needs

• Add a new record
• Search for a record
• Print a report
• User Friendly 
• Easy to navigate

Task 2 - Design a Database User Interface

(Search Database User Interface on the internet under Images to get some ideas)

This is an example that I found, but for Water Conservation!

Sketch (on paper or using a graphics package is fine) what your Activities Database Interface may look like - think of all the things your database needs to do (from your user needs list) and make sure there are buttons to do these things, including printing, adding records, exiting the programme. It should be fit for audience (an adult) and purpose.
