7wa2 - Kodu 2 - Configuring and Basic Programming

To self develop basic programming skills 

Kodu 2

Starter - on your phones or on the computer, look up and write on the tables a definition of  CONFIGURE ..... in computer terms.

verb (used with object), configured, configuring.

Computers. - to put together (a computer or computer system) by supplying,arranging, or connecting a specific set of internal or external components:
My next laptop will be configured for gaming with a fast processor and lots of memory.
to set up (a software program or device) for a particular computer,computer system, or task:
to configure the printer for a wireless network.



Main 1
Configure Kodu according to the help sheets. You may have to help each other out.


Main 2
Open Kodu Game Lab, Create a new basic world, practice saving it and exporting it to your Sites folder, using the support sheets.

Support Sheets 1 and 2 - Adding and object, programming an object 
This will help you make a Rover or Kodu move following the arrow keys 

If you need support, follow the teacher demonstration.

Challenges:
Can you ? 
1) Can you make a Rover or Kodu eat an apple when he sees it
2) Make a Rover or Kodu glow purple when he sees a green star
3) Can you make a Rover or Kodu jump up and down when he sees a Fly Fish 
4) Can you make a Rover or Kodu follow a path when you press the X key on the key board

What challenges can you set a partner to achieve?

Moving learning on..... based on what you have learnt so far, how could you plan a basic game in Kodu?
